measuring big???

Hey ladies... so I had my 28 week appointment this morning. Babies heart beat was 161 (never been higher than 148). And doc said I was measuring a little big.. I asked him what that meant, and he said could mean a 10 pound baby... the thought of not having her natural, her being unhealthy, or having her too early because of size really bothers me.. I meant to ask my doc this but after he said 10 pound baby I was kind of mind blown.. so my question is: is there anything I can do to slow her growth without causing any harm at all? I know ive not been eating too great, and haven't been exercising.. if I start doing that would it help her to not get super big? I'd hate for her to grow too much, too quickly, and be born too early... what can I do differently to help her grow healthy and at a good pace? Thanks!

Good luck to you also MikaWebb!! I would be ok with an 8 pound baby. But with it being my first the thought of trying to push anything bigger out with no pain meds and doing it all natural scares the hell out of me! Lol... yea you all may have been able to do it, but that don't mean I will be able to! I'm a wuse! Haha! I know a lot of people say it's different when you are in there and actually going through it, but in the meantime I'll just be here freaking out about her being born early, getting stuck and hurt, me being torn open, not being able to deliver her naturally... you know the normal things. Lol.. I'm sure she will be fine. I'm going for a 3d ultrasound in 2 weeks so maybe we can see how big she is then. Until then I plan to exercise better and eat less cookies and candy!

I'm a very small person my first child was 7 .6 my son I measured big and he ended up 9.5. This baby now I'm measuring big again. No need to worry. I delivered them all natural and plan to with this one too.

Im kinda in the same boat when I got my ultrasound i was 19wks but mybaby measured that of someone who is 21wks. The doctor said my baby was big for how far along I was and that he could be up to 10lbs I immediately thought Omg! I wanted to do this without drugs but the thought of being ripped during birth and having to get stitched afterwards without any pain meds and so unbearable.. Hopefully my baby isn't 10lbs.. Goodluck to you

There no reason (unless something medical chives up) to not have her naturally bc she's measuring a bit agreed that's normal and relatively common. So instead of having a 6.8lbs baby you may have an 8.8 9lb baby not that big of deal. My first was 8.6. My brother was 10.3 my sil was 9.14 mine was the only one of the Three not born natural bc im 4'10 and have a small pelvis and he was too big for me. And just bc your measuring big at 28 doesn't necessarily mean you will next appt baby could even out on growth. And my had my brother 10.3 no medicine at all 100% natural and she did not tear. She's only 5'3 btw. And a fatty baby lol is still healthy trust me. I'd rather have a 9lb healthy baby than a 6lb scrawny baby.

If the baby is huge (like fatty).. that can't be healthy on her lungs! I know she will be big if she is meant to be big, no problem there! If she is big and healthy I'm ok with it, but she doesn't have to be chunky and unhealthy! And sorry but there's no way a 10 pound baby is coming out of me naturally.. I wanted to try no epidural and  all that.. completely natural.. can't do that with a huge baby. There's no way with my pain tolerance level.. has anyone else ever measured a little bit big at 28 weeks? What was the size of your baby at birth? I know everyone is different, but I'm curious.

There is nothing but good from having a big baby, a bigger baby is a healthier baby as well as you can deliver naturally still.

There is nothing to do tip slow babys growth.  You can still delivery a big baby naturally,  the body is an amazing thing and it was designed to birth babies.
