first trimester massage

I'm 5 weeks and a few days... my sister gave me a full back massage last night and now my mom is saying she should've never done that cause that can lead to a miscarriage... how true is that??

She shouldn't have done that... I was told not too in my first trimester.

My mom also told me its bad to get a massage in the first trimester.

The person giving you massage should certified to do so when you are expecting.  There are points that shouldn't be massaged in pregnancy. I have read this several places and was told the same by my acupuncturists. I would think you would be ok but make sure your next one is done by someone certified.

I am not sure but when I had a massage done they asked how far along. When I asked why he said because they do not do people in the first trimester due to health risks.
