Gwenivory children get the Dtap at 2 months. The flu vaccine is not approved below 6 months.
Sloanzon1027 that article is not based in science as Johns Hopkins has NOT done a study on the flu vaccine, so be careful where you get your information. The flu vaccine is very important for everyone, especially pregnant women and those around newborns. Just because you've never gotten the flu in the past doesn't mean you can't/won't get it. It's a very serious illness that take the lives of many people every year. Just a little perspective. In the US every year, the flu kills between 5,000-10,000 people. That's more than the number of people who have died in all of Africa of Ebola.
my Dr told me that children now, where I live, get the shot at 2 months
Taylor2323 children get the flu shot at 6 months, not 2 years.
I personally will not get the flu shot I feel no benefit in it and I never have. this is my 3rd baby and I have not got one with any of my pregnancies. I don't understand why it is "safe" to get a flu shot yet they won't give a child one until they are two years of age. Tdap how ever I did get at 36 weeks
Ask your doctor. They spent a small fortune on medical school to help their patients be healthy :)
It is always recommend by your health care provider to get a flu shot especially while pregnant. Your immune system is lower than usual right now because of the pregnancy. So it definitely wouldn't hurt to get one to protect you and the baby. Sometimes, articles you may find on the Internet can be misleading. So always ask your doctor/nurse. I got one because the doctor highly recommended it
