Im still taking my pregnacare multivitamin with folic acid in it its just a lot more important in the first 3 months, still good throughout pregnancy though, i had this issue too and spoke to my midwife about it as im a FTM too, you will be fine to carry on taking it :)
Folic acid is very important during pregnancy. The actor Boris Kodjoe was just on a talk show talking about how his daughter was born with a preventable disease due to his wife not eating leafy greens or talking folic acid while pregnant. I forgot the name of the disease.
Switch to a prenatal vitamin the one take is a Costco brand which has folic acid and mine says before during and after baby and while breastfeeding :)
Folic acid is good for you and your baby hence it should be taken during and after pregnancy as well. Folic acid helps to prevent birth defects and helps blood develop. You can also get folic acid from foods such as beans, oranges diary dark leafy vegs.
My prenatals have folic acid as we'll and I have been taking them my while pregnancy. They say to take them before during and after as well
My prenatal has folic acid and is meant to be taken before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and after pregnancy if breast feeding.
see im a bit confused because folic acid is in pregnacare tablets, but my wee tub of folic acid says to stop at 12 weeks its so confusing because you can take pregnacare throughout youur whole pregnancy which would mean folic acid should be fine throughout too, im a ftm so im new to all this haha:)
Ohh evn I am not aware of that..I am 16 weeks yt taking folic acid tablets had been at 15 weeks appointment to my doc she did not say to discontinue
