maw - your bit about counting by trimester is correct.

The counting by weeks doesn't work.  You've got 5 weeks in month 8,  and 5 weeks in month nine,  and you actually end up 41 weeks along - because you've completed week 40.  That makes you 41 weeks,  one week overdue.

The problems with counting weeks to months is months aren't 4 weeks long.  They're about 4.5 weeks long.

That's absolutely correct maw4389. That's what I've been told by my dr and websites I've visited throughout my pregnancy with my daughter. Will definitely calculate my months the exact same way now.

No not four months 13÷4=3.25 you are "in" the forth month but not completed. Still three months.  I'm 21 weeks so I'm in my 6th month but I'm five months

No you're definitely not 4months and 1 week. 13weeks is 3 months and the end of your first trimester
