how did you tell your employer that you were pregnant?

I'm interested in hearing the stories of how you told your employer and what their reaction was. Im a student and shift supervisor at Cvs/Pharmacy.  I just transferred to a new location and all the woman there are old, very old lol. Im the youngest there. Im just hesitant to tell my manager since im new to the location I just transferred less than a month ago and im 8 weeks.

I told my manager very very early! I think I was about 6 weeks. Just because I am an engineer and my work is very physical and they really needed to be aware of it to avoid doing anything risky. Plus I am the only female in that role and it had never been risk assessed. I just asked him if I could have a word, and I told him in confidentiality. I just asked that it was kept quiet till I was ready to tell everyone else. I'm very glad I did tell him because I've been looked after thoroughly ever since! Also I had a big scare at 8 and half weeks, major bleed (whilst working) and it made things much easier telling him that, I received so much support. Couldn't be happier with my employers!

Told my Boss @ 13 weeks I have been his  medical manager for 14 years. He was speechless and agreeable, but the closer I get to maternity he's not being so agreeable.

I had a full time job at a summer camp this summer and I never told my boss there. No reason to since I wasn't showing and it was only a temporary position. But I've been a waitress for like 6 years at a small italian restaurant here in town. My boss was a little caught off hairs when I told him, but he was very excited for me as he has practically watched me grow up. It was sweet. Best of luck to you!
