Hi ladies I am a dental hygienist in Jersey and in our office we usually wait until the patient is past their 1st trimester..too risky for anything to happen. 2nd & 3rd ok as long as we have clearance from OBGYN...we take absolutely NO RISKS. if the patient isin massive pain we HAVE to take an xray and you will be shielded w/ a lead apron...sometimes two! Anesthetic used is also diff. Usually no epinephrine! Hope this helps!! I am 9 weeks but have someone else exposing xrays on my patients ;-)

They usually have to use a different anesthetic when you are pregnant

Yes its ok, they will most likely need to do xrays, for that they will cover your chest and belly with a blanket, i cant remember what its called but it will protect your baby, good luck girl =)

I got all my dental work done in my first trimester. Had a wisdom tooth pulled in my second and about to get another wisdom tooth pulled Thursday and I'm now 34 weeks. My dentist was iffy on doing any dental work in my third trimester but my dr said it's perfectly fine. (:
