I'm a hairstylist and it's absolutely safe, hair color does not absorb into you blood stream

If you want to bleach it, I would definitely 100% wait until after or close to your 6 week postpartum checkup... Only because it's your hormones that mess with your hair and you still go through a lot of hormonal changes after the pregnancy too! I just bleached mine totally and I'm almost 6 weeks postpartum and it turned out for the most part

Usually you should wait until the second trimester just to be safe! Make sure when you do dye your hair to be in a well ventilated room and also just remember that it might not be the exact color you're expecting due to difference in your hair due to hormones. That's especially an issue if you're lightening it, I know for me the bleach wouldn't take as well as it usually does so my hair was orangey. Just be cautious
