OK as far as people talking about the cereal... that AND juice is a personal choice, now it is true certain cereals with constipate baby. However MANY pediatricians suggest giving baby a little cereal at night, but I will say that if its the cereal that's constipating him I'd talk to.my Dr and see exactly what kind is best. I can't remember right now what my Drs told me to use because my kids had weird BM problems anyway so I just stuck to goats milk period.

A month and a half is too young to put cereal in the bottle. No wonder he is bound up. I would talk to your sons doctor before continuing any cereal and about his bowel problems. But my 1 year old had some tummy issues (his, stool was hard and would only go once every couple days) and the doctor had me put a tablespoon if dark caro syrup into his bottle every feeding to help and it worked great. Good luck

if you are using cereal is it rice cereal? Rice cereal is really good about binding baby's up. I started cereal early for my guy but I switched to oatmeal because the rice binded him up really bad.

Well while that works I'd talk to your pediatrician because you don't want your child's body to become dependent on the prune or apple juice, your body is supposed to be able to.pass a BM on its own ESP at that young, the Dr will tell you exactly what to do and may say change his milk. My boys both had to be switched from formula (I breast fed.but stopped producing milk) to goats milk because of acid reflux and constipation

When I had poopy problems with my little guy I would just mix a couple tablespoons of apple or prune (prune is better and my guy loved it but apple if your guy won't do the prune lol) baby food in a couple of his bottles a day and he was usually feeling much better in just a couple days and I eventually just did it every day like in his first bottle and then one in the afternoon and he stayed pretty regular and wasn't having such a hard time anymore
