I'm in Missouri as well vacuumprincess so that's kind of a weird coincidence considering my first comment on this thread and not really being sure on what they test your blood for!
I "almost" failed the 1-hour my previous pregnancy and then passed the 3-hour. Bring a book and don't be shy to ask if you can lay down in a room in the back if you begin to feel woozy. Also bring a snack (high protein) to nosh on immediately after you're done. I was allowed to drink water during my test which was a huge blessing.
Ugh this weather is annoying at times.. It's suppose to b nice being spring and all but ugh I was soo mad when I woke up this morning and saw SNOW!! I had my Appt. Today but I still went bc my DH has 4WD so no biggie!! But the rest of the week is suppose to b nice!! :) o and sorry I know I've had blood test but I don't pay attention to what there doing.. I would just ask if it concerns u.. They have to give u an answer!
Thanks ladies. I know they took blood early on .... like 10-12 weeks???
I'm now 27 weeks & live in Missouri. I guess I'm just worried that they are testing for something that he doesn't want to say first, saving me worry....
I did fail the 1 hr glucose test the day he ordered the cbc. I'm also supposed to go the the hospital for a 3 hr test (should have been today, but we got bad weather overnight)
It may depend on where your from in the back of my maternity records it's just down as a routine thing at 28 weeks, but to be honest I have full blood count every week
I don't recall getting a Complete Blood Count in previous pregnancies but I may have. I know they said my hemoglobin was AMAZING so perhaps that was the CBC? I honestly have no idea. But if they did check then that was done when I was 8 weeks, not 28. It's so interesting that doctors and midwives can send you for "routine labs" without really telling you what they're checking for voluntarily. If I ask they'll answer but usually they just say, "Here's your labs; go get them done." I just assumed they were checking for STDs and that was it.
cbc is is pretty normal routine lab work that is done usually they are just checking . I have mine done more often due to the fact that i am anemic this time around but nothing to alarmed over
Yeah it's normal for 28 weeks pregnant you have one at the start n then one around now :)
