having a hamster during pregnancy. please help !

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and bought two dwarf hamsters two days ago. I've just been googling things about them online and some people are saying they're unsafe during pregnancy ? I'm really worried now and I'm getting quite upset over it. Is this true ? I'll phone my Dr tomorrow to check but am dying for answers ASAP. Any information will be greatly appreciated thank you .

Thanks everyone for the comments . I phoned two different midwives today and they both said the same thing. Just wash my hands thoroughly every time I hold them. And not to clean the cage so I've got my partner cleaning it for me weekly instead . Happy I don't have to get rid of the little fellas

I have a guinea pig and I'm completely fine. If you don't switch out the cage every week then yes the urine can cause problems with your breathing air. Just keep them outside your room more open room with tons of air

That's not good to have its crazy you post this because I was just reading about this in my monthly pregnancy magazine, it's highly dangerous girl! Their poop and body carry something that isn't good for you and the baby it's the same with being around cat pee and litter you should talk to the doctor who is see in you for pregnancy
