Labor Stories, already mommies?

Im a ftm, expecting a baby girl any day now. I just went in today for my 39+5weeks prenatal appt. I am still 1cm and 80% effaced :/ So I have made no progress.. I am very upset, ugh! Has anyone been through this? How long after this did you go into labor? How far dilated and effaced were you? I just want reassurance :( I dont want to have to be induced!!

This is kinda off topic but I went into labour with 2/3 of my children by bouncing and squating on a yoga ball if your trying to help your self go a little early I suggest trying that.. I went a week over with my first and one centimeter for that whole week too.. I wish I had that ball then.

If your reason for not wanting to be induced is because its supposedly more painful dont let that scare you. I was induced with all 3 of my babies ( drs didnt think I could deliver a baby bigger than 7lbs.) I proved them wrong lol but it's not as painful as you think its gonna be idk what going into labor naturally is like but I can say that none of my labors were longer than 6 hours they were super easy and I have very healthy babies. :) being induced isnt the worst thing.

I was dialated to 2 and 80% effaced for about 2 weeks before my baby was born. I was in labor for 22 1/2 hours. (Had him at 39w 2d) But it wasnt that bad. Especially once i got the drugs! The epidural is a mommy's best friend! Dont worry too much. Baby will come when its ready.
