At about 10 weeks they will do an ultrasound most likly and then you will hear your baby's heartbeat. There are also at home dopplers you can use but sometimes they will not work until your late 2nd trimeater. I am 37 weeks and unlesa I look at my tummy sometimes I do not think about it. It still has not really sunk in for me and I could deliver anyday now lol

When you go to the drs they will do the heart beat at every appointment. Don't go to the hospital just for that, if you have had positive tests and your not bleeding or in pain the baby is still there and doing good. I did not have any symptoms of being pregnant with my first. Its normal to be "in shock" specially as a first time mom.
