Flu shot question

So my doctor is really for me getting the flu shot, but all my life my mother hasn't had us vaccined for it so its just something that I opted not to do all my life. But my doctors concerns are that I am pregnant, and I am an asthmatic and she said that if I do get the flu I will end up in the hospital because my respiratory system won't be strong enough to handle it. And today I checked my Kaiser portal and she has the shot ordered for me, and thats even after I refused a million times. So my question is should I really get it? Have any of you ladies not gotten and wish you have? Or have some of you gotten and wish you hadn't gotten it?

You have to just ask yourself what's best for the baby? Wigh the pros and cons of getting it and like someone else said you can't get the flu from the shot.

The flu vaccine isnt a live virus so u cant actually catch the flu from it! I work in a nursing home so germs are ripe there so im high risk for being exposed to the flu.

I got the flu jab wednesday just gone and having my whooping cough on tuesday coming. My bf had flu last year and ended up in hospital, i couldnt cope with being that ill and pregnant. I also had a friend who lost a baby at 17w because she was so ill with the flu, she was on a ventilator for 5 months due to the flu and theres no way im losing my baby or risking my health when it can be prevented with a small jab!

I refused the flu shot when offered. I got it for the first time last year, and I was in bed 48 hours later with flu like symptoms. I felt worse with the shot than I did when I had the flu. I was told that if I catch the flu while pregnant that my symptoms would be worse, but I'm having our son in 3 weeks so I'm hoping being confined in the house prevents it.

I am against putting anything into my body while I'm carrying my child...my Dr is pushing for me to get the flu shot but I just dont understand why people would introduce sickness into their bodies especially while expecting...NO FLU SHOT FOR ME :-)....

Thanks ladies. I have never gotten the flu either, and I do know pregnant women are at high risk for illness. So I can't say never.

I got it. Ive also had to have my whooping cough due to it being on the rise.in infants in the UK. It's for your babies and your benefit. I dont get how people refuse.

Yeah my doctor is really pushing it. Plus I am iffy about it because I never had it before, so I am afraid how my body will react towards it.

I'm choosing not to as well. However, I did get the whooping cough one because of the dangers to infants and the outbreak in my county. It's your choice.
