You have to just ask yourself what's best for the baby? Wigh the pros and cons of getting it and like someone else said you can't get the flu from the shot.
The flu vaccine isnt a live virus so u cant actually catch the flu from it! I work in a nursing home so germs are ripe there so im high risk for being exposed to the flu.
i just got my flu shot today actually! i think its a good idea. while your pregnant you immune system isnt as strong....but thats just my opinion :P
I got the flu jab wednesday just gone and having my whooping cough on tuesday coming. My bf had flu last year and ended up in hospital, i couldnt cope with being that ill and pregnant. I also had a friend who lost a baby at 17w because she was so ill with the flu, she was on a ventilator for 5 months due to the flu and theres no way im losing my baby or risking my health when it can be prevented with a small jab!
I refused the flu shot when offered. I got it for the first time last year, and I was in bed 48 hours later with flu like symptoms. I felt worse with the shot than I did when I had the flu. I was told that if I catch the flu while pregnant that my symptoms would be worse, but I'm having our son in 3 weeks so I'm hoping being confined in the house prevents it.
I am against putting anything into my body while I'm carrying my child...my Dr is pushing for me to get the flu shot but I just dont understand why people would introduce sickness into their bodies especially while expecting...NO FLU SHOT FOR ME :-)....
Thanks ladies. I have never gotten the flu either, and I do know pregnant women are at high risk for illness. So I can't say never.
I have never gotten the shot think I've only had flu once or twice ever. I did not get it last pregnancy I won't be getting it this time. Doc asked but did not push me to.
I've only had the flu one time and that is when I got the flu shot.......I wasn't pregnant tho. I still will not be getting the shot.
I have never had the flu jab and never had flu. my bf always has it and although never had flu he has always had a bad cold at winter.
I got it. Ive also had to have my whooping cough due to it being on the rise.in infants in the UK. It's for your babies and your benefit. I dont get how people refuse.
Tgmama I definitely got that one before I was pregnant. My EMT program required and I am glad I got it.
I felt the same way and i had 2 babies wivout gettin the flu shot...after doin sum research and my doc goin on at me i chose 2 have it....i had it 2day. We r hi risk since the swine flu hit out..google flu shot nhs, myt help u make up ur mind
Yeah my doctor is really pushing it. Plus I am iffy about it because I never had it before, so I am afraid how my body will react towards it.
I'm choosing not to as well. However, I did get the whooping cough one because of the dangers to infants and the outbreak in my county. It's your choice.
I never got it as a kid and my Dr suggested it now that I'm pregnant but I refused it
I got it when i wasn't pregnant and wish i never would have got it. Thank god my doctor hasn't said anything to me about it lol.
