Bloody Show - TMI - sorry

Sorry if TMI, but I just had "bloody show" this morning when I wiped after peeing.  It was a glob of dark brown blood tinged mucus and I am right at 40 weeks (1-2cm dilated and 50% effaced).  Has anyone else had this happen before labor and when did your labor start?  I have an induction scheduled for next Thursday at about 41 weeks which I'd like to avoid and I am hoping labor will start on it's own!  Thanks. :-)

Women typically go into labor within 24 hours of bloody show. Other women it can take a few days.

Now this is way TMI but I want to help you so I'll tell you. I had so much bloody show. It was just like globs of rubber cement with blood in it. I kept getting more and more out. Three days later my water broke and I had my baby 5 hours after that.

So it sounds like you may miss that induction after all. Go on a walk! Try to have sex, bounce on the birth ball, climb stairs, scrub your floors on your hands and knees (seriously! This position is helpful), etc.
