help plz

I've been told that swimming in the river can cause bacteria. Is there anyway to prevent that?? I've been swimming in the river since I was little and its pike my second home

I used to go to the beach with my last pregnancy.  But a friend of mine went swimming in a river and got a realllly bad bacterial infection and gave birth to her baby boy at 21 weeks.  Poor baby only live for 3 minutes :'(  I wouldn't risk it if I were you.

Yeah she probably just doesn't want you to get a bacterial infection.

Thank you! My doctor said she wouldn't recommend it but pregnant people swim here all the time.

I don't see the issue with it. Pregnant women go to the lake and the beach all the time. Justake sure you shower afterwards and if you get a bacteria infection its easily taken care of.
