There are LOTS of women's shelters out there who will help out. Especially with moms. You would be surprised how many families turn up at shelters for numerous reasons. It will not effect anything in your life just social stigma. Everyone is quick to judge but face it, we all need a little helping hand every now and then. Best of luck!
Oh and in Houston the wait list is like 7 years for housing.
I know. And right now. That's my last resort. I can't transfer jobs. And i moved out and went to my sister house, but her "man" started fighting with her so that I could leave. So I had to come back. I can go to my mother, once I go on maternity leave, but she barely has room for my younger brothers and sisters. Its just complicated.
I know what you mean took my grandmother 2yrs to receive her voucher , you tried staying with famil or just transferring jobs i mean a shelter should be your absolute last resort especially with 2kids
Gov assistance for housing in Houston is pretty much dead as of now. It takes years to get assistance for housing. So that's why I'm really considering shelter for me and my two kids until I can do better.
Have you looked into any type of gov assistance ?
