hot dogs

I read that you're not supposed to eat hotdogs while pregnant. Do you know if It's because of the nitrates? If so, can't you just buy nitrate free ones? Or are there other problems with them? Thanks in advance!

I had my son July 9th and he's perfectly healthy and throughout my whole pregnancy I ate hot dogs. And cold subway.lol. I definitely craved them a lot so I just enjoyed them.

Its not very common to get lysteria but its just one of those rather be safe than sorry type of deals

I eat hotdogs all the time and im 34+2. I belive its fine:) I love them especially cut up in mac n cheese:) but if you are concerned plz talk to ur doc to be sure:)

Ive ate hot dogs and lunch meat all three of my pregnancies LOL. It's fine.

You can eat them as long as yu do so while its steaming hot... hot dogs and sandwich meats can grow a bacteria called lysteria that's very dangerous during pregnancy

I tought the only way you could not eat them was when the winne was not cooked. Oops I have been eating them my whole pregnancy.. would really like an answer now

I haven't heard that before, but I ate them in my other 3 pregnancies and it did no harm. I don't think I've had one during this pregnancy yet so I would be interested to find out why you can't. I'll stay clear of them to be on the safe side, thanks for the heads up!
