That's great that your doctor is telling you to start ttc again... many doctors will tell you to wait (more for the emotional aspect than anything else).. but that can sometimes be the best time to start up again, because we tend to be very fertile right after a miscarriage.
Not to say it always works, but I had a miscarriage Nov 20 and we were told to just take a break until the start of the new year (meaning continue w/ normal "activities" but we didn't bother with any of the normal fertility drugs/procedures we had done before)... and somehow, we actually got pregnant!! It was, in my eyes, nothing short of a miracle. We didn't bother with timing or anything b/c we really didn't think it was possible... come January we tested (on a whim) and I was pregnant.
So I think it's a great idea for you and your husband to get right back into the swing of things. I wish you the very best of luck!
Thanks so much for all your answers.Found out at my apt that we can start ttc again now if we want.
MH2968 I hope this month brings you and I both better luck!
I had a chemical pregnancy, and naturally miscarried at about 5 weeks. I bleed for about 4 days and then five weeks later I got my period. I am hoping this month will bring me better luck.
I had a D&C done last April bled for about 3 days.. then spotted for 1-2 then everything was back to normal had regular periods and that good stuff. Got a BFP almost 4 months later now I am in my 7th month.
Hang in there, and just let your body heal. I am very sorry to hear about your loss, that is never easy.
God Bless.

I had a natural M/C in November and I bled like a normal Period for about 5 days. And I got my next Period 32 days after my M/C. It was a little heavier than normal. Now I just got my second Period 40 days later-so it seems my cycle is getting longer. errrg.
Everybodys body is different, some people bleed for days, some weeks, it all depends. A M/C is a traumatizing event, not only on your mind but on your body too...so it does take a while sometimes for it to get back on track.
Your spotting could be left over from AF or just because your body is just trying to get back on some sort of cycle. Your appointment they will prolly just make sure everything is okay with your body and check to make sure everything is out and you're okay to start trying again.
I'm sorry for your loss, take care hun.
I had a natural misscarraige 12/20 and I bled for about a week stopped for a few days and just got my real first period the 1/29....so it does take a while.
I had a d&c on Nov 29th and bled on and off until around the 18th of december, got my first period Jan 11th which was roughly six weeks after the procedure.
I had a natural miscarriage the day after christmas, the bleeding lasted VERY heavy fir about 4 days then light 2/3 more days. its now the beg of feb and i have yet to have a period, I thought it started jan31st but turned out I just light spotted for a few days. My doc had said it could take 4/6 weeks to have a period after miscarriage. I know its frustrating waiting... im considering taking a preg test being that mine still hasnt come.
I bled on and off for 3 weeks after my d&c. It took six weeks for me to get my real period and then I got pregnant again right away after that. It usually takes people anywhere from about 4-8 weeks to get their period after a miscarriage. Sometimes it even takes a little longer it just depends on your body.
I can only speak from my experience... I had a natural mc last fall and I bled pretty heavy for 4 days. It then stopped completely, then I got my regular period just about 5 weeks later. It takes awhile for things to get back on track, and I've heard that spotting is common. I wouldn't worry too much about things right now; sounds like your body is just gettig itself back to normal. Be patient and try not to stress. I'm sorry about your mc, I know how painful it is. Best wishes to you! :)
