Is taking antibiotics the whole pregnancy is bad? :(
My Dr wants me on antibiotics through my whole pregnancy. He thinks it might save my kidneys, he is thinking that if I don't take it I will most likely lose my kidneys. I refused because the antibiotics have serious side effects for long term use and there is more than just me to think about. I am not comfortable risking the baby...
BV is very hard to get rid of especially since you are allergic to Flagyl. Flagyl is the top choice for treatment which is probably why you've needed so many courses of the Clindamycin. Hopefully this is the last time you have to take it though! I know for me antibiotics destroy my stomach so I can't imagine being on them for so long. I just finished Macrobid myself for a UTI.

I'm so sorry to hear that but that's a great news to hear you're all fine now! And I hope you're babys doing all well too! So far, I have no infections but this bacterial vaginosis! :/ which is a hard thing to get rid of...
So I guess its okay? ;/ I really hope AF er taking this dose, I'm done with that stupid bacterial vaginosis! :( specially my baby boys doing fine! Thanks again! Just wanna know what happened to those who've experienced it
The bacteria will hurt you and baby a lot more than taking the anti biotics.
Your dr knows what anti biotics are ok to take during pregnancy:)
I had anti biotics for kidney infection, bladder infection, uti, and yeast infection. I had them all at once :( but I'm ok now i took keflex for them. Its a lot safer than going untreated

Hi! No. Its an antibiotic called clindamycin HCl for bacterial vaginosis. Its like every month since July I have to take a dose of clindamycin HCl twice a day for seven days... July I took flagyl for two days was allergic to it so they gave me clindesse vaginal cream for my baby! Then august found out I still have it and they have me take this clindanycin HCl tablet. Then august 27th, ugh I still have it!! They're making me take the same ****. Sorry im just a lil bit disappointed nor upset. Yup its clindamycin HCl again for seven days twice a day! And well know this sept 24 if I still have it :'/
If your Dr is comfortable prescribing you antibiotics for extended periods of time then that'd be fine. I asked because some people take antibiotics long term for acne or other medical conditions and usually those types of antibiotics are not safe during pregnancy at all, let alone for extended periods of time. Most antibiotics are safe though and if your Dr is prescribing it for an infection than its best to take it as the benefits outweigh the risks.
I have a bad bacterial vaginosis (bv) ugh! Need to treat but it won't go away :( been taking antibiotics since July. I am 22 weeks BTW. Ugh
