Can your nipples get sore if babys on them a lot my daugthers going threw a growth spurt she's nearly 4weeks old Tuesday x

At the BF Clinic ask them to check for lip tie and/or tongue tie.  It can cause major bf issues including very sore nipples for mama because the baby is not able to latch properly with a lip/tongue tie.

It could be that she's not latching on properly as well but with my first and even with second I had terrible pain even with proper latching.  It did go away after a while though. Give it another couple of weeks and maybe call your health department to see if they offer a lactation specialist in your area or where you can meet with one. They will help with latching, pumping, producing more milk.

I saw a specialist twice. I had the same problem with my little one and ended up having to bottle feed because she just wasn't a good latcher and ended up really hurting me. My mom said I was the exact same way lol. Don't blame yourself though! It's not your fault!

maw4389 on Friday I'm gonna go to a breastfeeding clinic so hopefully I can get her to go on and not suck on the nipple xx

Is she possibly not getting a good latch each time? If she's not latching quite right she might not be getting as much milk and it can really hurt your nipples.

mommaDof3 hey erm yh its my first baby but I've been pregnant 4 times I think its done because she seemed to have slept longer this time I Put her on the boob and she came off and was still hungry so I gave her a bottle it might not be done I don't know

Mine daughter did that. It got to every 30 minutes when she got a little older. I think it was turned into a comfort thing for her after a while. Once her growth spurt is done this time around it will give them a rest and they will toughen up. Is this your first baby?

mommaDof3 It never used to hurt but she is feeding every hour o less xx

Yes. Breast feeding will make them hurt for the first wgile. They can also Crack and bleed. Get a nipple cream if you don't have one yet and I know lansinoh has heat/cold packs for breasts. Try that to relieve the pain a little between feedings.
