i think im about to give up. My milk just doesnt seem to want to come in.

Just tried nursing, nipple shield, and pumping (below .5 oz)

Ended up giving her that 9ml of breastmilk I had and supplementing the rest with Gerber Good Start.

See a LC, they can show you what you need. The problem with bottles is if you go to those she might not ever latch. BFing requires more work from the baby because its an effort to draw the milk out. Bottles make them lazy because it just drips out regardless and of course they choose the easiest route. It DOES get easier, but it also takes work. Try to supplement as little as possible, or avoid it if you can. This also will drop your supply because BFing is supply and demand.

I just can't get her to latch on.... and she will throw a fit if I take to long... it is so frustrating I am just going to do both when needed but I definitely will not give up.

Every.woman is different....your milk may take a little longer to come in...plus babies tummy.is small right now...they really don't eat a lot...and pumping doesn't really matter how.much milk You give out....your body will constantly produce more....just try and nurse baby more often.

Nurse as frequently as you can, it is the BEST tool to being milk in and is more efficient than anything else at getting milk out.

Don't give up, mama! You're only a week post partum. Try fenugreek and mothers milk tea. You can get them at any vitamin shoppe or gnc for around five bucks. I think I only got a half ounce from both sides a week post partum.
