Hello there. Im a first time mom. Im extremely happy to be a mommy! I just had a few questions about the first trimester. Im 7 weeks today... im just wondering what are some things I should really avoid during first trimester? Also, im having a hard time quitting smoking so im wondering if there's any moms out there who also had a hard time with this? Also, is there any way you can find out the sex before the weeks period? I guess you could say im a little paranoid and I just want to make sure I can keep this baby safe, I guess im a little paranoid. Im a single mommy and in reality, I don't really have someone to support me when im worrying so I turn to this... thank you for your help whoever can give me the proper tips. :)

Yes .6d smoke free @ 14w. Argh I jus want a big fat marley smoke. My bf is a good supporter. He helped me get through it.

As for sex...perfectly fine as long as there's no pain or bleeding.  It easy if you're concerned.

The first thing you should know is that the great majority of births are normal and uncomplicated.

As to the smoking, I was a moderate smoker. With my first I could not abide cigarettes, their smell, their ashes.... For the others I smoked. I had very healthy eating habits, but bad morning sickness. All the children were born naturally and full term. If you are worried about the smoking, try keeping your cigarettes, ashtray and lighter in an inconvenient place. (Mine were in the next room, in a drawer.) This worked well for me and cut my smoking by one-third immediately.

As to what you should avoid in the first trimester, it is anything you should avoid when you are not pregnant. So no junk food, no chemical drinks that they call sodas, etc. And take the vitamins recommended for pregnant mothers. As you can see, being pregnant is not at all complicated.
