As for sex...perfectly fine as long as there's no pain or bleeding. It easy if you're concerned.
The first thing you should know is that the great majority of births are normal and uncomplicated.
As to the smoking, I was a moderate smoker. With my first I could not abide cigarettes, their smell, their ashes.... For the others I smoked. I had very healthy eating habits, but bad morning sickness. All the children were born naturally and full term. If you are worried about the smoking, try keeping your cigarettes, ashtray and lighter in an inconvenient place. (Mine were in the next room, in a drawer.) This worked well for me and cut my smoking by one-third immediately.
As to what you should avoid in the first trimester, it is anything you should avoid when you are not pregnant. So no junk food, no chemical drinks that they call sodas, etc. And take the vitamins recommended for pregnant mothers. As you can see, being pregnant is not at all complicated.
