Post c-section

I had an emergency C-section at the beginning of this month due to failure to descend and so other encountered complications. I am due to go into see my doctor this week and still have surgical tape on my incision and stiches. It appears to have healed quite well, but now I am worried about the surgical tape. My doc said that they would remove it if it doesn't fall off in the shower and it hasn't. I'm so scared about them riping this tape off. Should I ask if I could do it myself. Or should I try to take it off before the visit? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

I took them off in the shower, I babied my incision because I'm so paranoid lol.... I got a huge cup, took it into the shower with me, filled it with warm water... pulled up the tiniest corner of the strip, than pulled it super gently while flooding it with the warm/hot water. It worked good!!! LoL

I had steristripes with my first C-Section and apparently I'm allergic lol they kept itching well.I just thought it was normal and would sorta rub around them, I ended making a lot of mine fall off but I was covered in blisters yuk! The actual medical tape though I had that with.my second and pulled it off too early and ended up I wasn't totally healed AND I pulled skin off because I didn't give it time to loosen up I just took it off cause it was annoying.me

As mine got loose I would just help peel them off!! I would stand under the shower, letting the water run over them n help em come off, BUT only after a few weeks when I knew my incision was good n healed!! Those strips really start to itch after awhile!!

The steri strips? Oh yea, they're supposed to fall off within like three weeks but never do.  You can wait or take them off yourself.
They tell people to wait because some people get antsy and rip them off within a week if they aren't told otherwise :-P.

Try taking it.off like right before your appointment just incase something happens (like it rips skin or its not as healed as you think) that way you don't have.to walk around with a sore or an unhealed cut. That happened to me with my second I took.it off too early and had to go a week before seeing my Dr.
