I'm almost 40 weeks, my midwife is inducing me,
I'm so nervous!
I can't wait to hold my little girl!
What should I expect with inducing?

They will put some medication inside next to your servix to help it ripen. Also they should give you some medication threw your Iv. I received mine at 42weeks at about 6:00pm and she was born at 10:45am. Try and get as much sleep as you can before you go to the hospital and make sure you eat a carb rich meal drink lots of water. The side effects for the medications says can induce labor is really the only big one and that's the point. I know a few people including my self have had issues sleeping after getting the medications so its good to decided if you are having problems if you want to get help from the Dr to sleep. Try and stay calm and don't stress out if it doesn't move as fast as you want it to your stress and emotions carry to the baby and it might cause you to need an emergency c-section. Always remember when the Dr says you need something as why as you are always allowed to say no but make sure you get an medical reason for everything.
