inducing labor...

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on inducing labor, I was told by my Dr tht since im 36 wks that if labor starts he wont stop it.. Ive been looking up online how to start it... But im curious as to what everyones experiences are, I know there has been nothing proven to "actually" start labor but im still curious... All comments that tell me not to and that its a bad idea will be ignored bc im not asking ur opinion on it, im asking those of u who tried, what ur ecperience was.. Thanks ladies :D

So, just saying... When your baby and body is ready, it will happen. All babies can have problems! Not just premature ones. I had my daughter at 33 weeks and she was 6 lbs 6oz and completely healthy and still is at 4.5 years. She did have issues with ear infections but that can happen to anyone! I wish I could jumpstart and get my lil guy out. I will be officially 38 weeks in a hr and I'm so ready to have him. I just hope it's not this weekend cuz I really don't want to have to deal with "ruining" my mil plan if stealing my hubby to move her to her new house. But then again maybe just maybe shed realize that now matter what he will be there for me. Good luck in whatever you do try. My dr told me that your body naturally has more contractions at night (between 8 and midnight) I think he's a nut job but if it is true, you should try these things at night and hopefully it will make you start having stronger contractions on ur own :)

Castor.oil just sounds tand I dont like tea..Ive heard from freinds that sex, walking, and bouncing.on an excercise ball is the way to go, so thats what im going to do until little man decides to get here... I alredi.know he isnt going to come unless he wants to, and nothing is scientifi, ally proven to work, but im still trying, and id say the things ive picked are almost exact to what I do everyday anyways..

No one is judging her..there are risks involved though.  Her dr said its ok for her to self induce herself a month early.  A baby born at 36 weeks gestation is at risk for jaundice, infection, and breathing, feeding and temperature challenges.  Doctors cant predict everything thats why hes waiting until fulterm like she said 38 weeks to induce her.  Its nomal for practice contractions to start and for baby to be head down at 36 weeks.  Also all babies start practicing breathing at around 18 weeks.  The only way to test if your babies lungs are mature enough to breath air is a amniocentesis where they insert a needle in your belly and check cells.  Good luck please let your dr induce you...

And once again your baby will come when ready. My baby's head down and engaged and have been having contractions since 32 weeks, proper painful contractions. Doctor s have no idea how bubs is going to react when born. My Midwife was telling me that if I made 36 weeks bubs still tends to be very sleepy and hard to breast feed and tend to go to nicu for breathing. I'm lucky I have had steroids. This is so frustrating.

Im just gonna day I dont think its right for people to judge you. If your doctor says its okay then go for it. We arent doctors so we dont know the health of your baby. I wish your baby the best of luck :) I wouldnt recommend the castor oil. Every friend of mine WHO tired it just got sick from it and still didnt go into labor. Good luck

Ive been having contractions, hes head down, and 2 days ago had an ultrasound where they monitored him practicing his breathing and sucking for about a half an hr, they said hes very healthy and that they cant actually induce me until im 38 Weeks, but its possible my due date is off bc hes doing so well, so they dont mind if itry to induce, to answer anyones questions.... With that bn said, aparently.if hes "ready" ive been given the ok to jump start it... which is why im looking for ways to try to induce it, safe ways obviously, Dr said as long as its ok for me, its fine for.baby.... So anyone else with ideas?

Please do not give this woman ways to induce herself...that is not helping this woman or baby by her trying to start labor a month early.  Shame on you ladies!

At 36 weeks no home remedy will work because your body and baby aren't ready. Just before 37 weeks I was building a change table/crib, lifting heavy things tiring myself out, and still nothing. But you're almost there! :)

Your baby isn't ready!  We all have to wait our turn. I'm 36 weeks had preterm at 32 and I'm happy I'm still pregnant.. all though I have extreme sickness and been in bed rest I know that every day in is better then out. I'm sorry but you are being selfish, we are all uncomfortable and achy but what did you expect. You shouldn't consider inducing until you hit your due date. Why don't you spend this time getting ready for labor. And expect people to disagree, even you saying you will ignore posts saying not to do it means you know its wrong. Any ways your body wont go into labor until its ready not when you decide your ready so putting extra stress on your body is only going to tire you out and get you no where.

Please dont try to induce a month early if something happens to.the baby it would be your fault...you wouldnt want to carry that guilt of your baby suffering because the babys.lungs arent ready.

Thanks Nicole, I was going to say the same thing about my friend. Both of hers were only two weeks early and both had problems. It's in the best interest of your baby to wait till you're over due. Then docs can induce you of need be.

Since you don't want to hear me say not to try to self induce before term, ill say this:

My water broke on its own at 36w and my son spent a week in the nicu in respiratory distress because his lungs weren't mature. He ended up with a collapsed lung and hooked up to wires and tubes.

Just be careful.

At 36 weeks your body is likely not ready, so no amount of anything you do will probably work. But pineapple worked for me at 40 weeks so maybe try that.

I'm 38 weeks and have been trying for a week, so I now understand that if baby isn't ready nothing will work. You can drink raspberry leaf tea, primrose oil (2 orally and one vaginally) bouncing on a ball, squats, spicy food, and sex :)
