inducing labour

So I'm 26 weeks and just being prepared, I do not want to start doing anything to induce labour yet as I'm still far too early I just want to b  organised! I've heard a lot of debate about castor oil, evening primrose oil, black cohosh and raspberry leaf tea. So my question is, are these safe to use during pregnancy? When should I take them? How do they work and what exactly are they used for? I'm just really fascinated by using herbs to kick start labour naturally if I end up going past my due date :)

The way I see it is your baby will come when he/she is ready.  And if it ends up taking too long, let your dr be the one to induce you. I hear about all these different things you can do to help induce labor, but im not convinced they actually work or that they are safe. Good luck!

both Raspberry leaf tea and evening ptimrose oil are safe and my doctor wanted me to take those when i turn 34 weeks.. this is my 2nd pregnancy and at first i was induced and it took me 15 hours of labor..so we need to do something so it wont happen again..

Raspberry leaf is more to help tighten your uterus to make it stronger in prep for labor. I would start taking them around 32wks or so since they don't induce labor it's just labor prep. Castor oil is a bad idea. Lots of walking- start walking a little bit now! Not too far or too fast, just walk some.

I've tried and she's not much help unfortunately! She did mention that I shouldn't use the castor oil but thought I'd ask others opinions on it anyway :)

You should really talk about it with your Dr. There are a lot of myths and wives tales.

Don't do the castol oil . It's not safe . A women took it and her baby pooped inside and got an infection from it and baby died few days after birth . It's not worth losing your baby .
