Im happy you stopped! Theres always a risk that smoking anything during pregnancy (cigarettes, hookah, weed) can affect baby. Good luck
With my first son.. I was 16, smoked until I was 6 months as well & nothing ever came up. What they do is take the baby's first poop in the hospital and test it. It goes back 3 months- so your good if u stop now. This baby I smoked at a few weeks and got sooo sick I couldn't even smoke lol.
I stoped early on to prevent that too. I think in my state (MA)they test at every apointment with your ob so im hoping iv been clean for a cople months now. Good luck =]
Thanks for all the support ladies :) I appreciate it!?
They could get child protective services involved if the baby has drugs in his/her system but as long as you quit now and dont use it again it should be completely out of both of your systems by birth:)
Its very brave of you to post this concern i know how some people on here could be so judgmental but its great that you have stopped smoking:) from what i have heard on here is that they do test every baby as protocol in purposes of making sure they wont go through withdraw. I believe they test the babies poop for substances...idk about the placenta. As long as u stopped smoking i feel that your baby should be fine. Good luck.
Thank you!!! That makes me feel a ton better :)
I talked to my dr about the same thing. They onlt test the plecenta if you test positive when you deliver. I live in missouri. 30 days itnwill be out of your system. As long as a lot of them are clean then you should be fine. I wouldn't worry.
I live in Colorado where Marijuana is Legal...
I stopped when I found out I was pregnant for the same reason and I have no clue of the laws. They used to not test or care unless the baby was in obvious danger (like from crack, meth, pills. Etc.)
Well smoking anything while pregnant is like clenching the ombilicul cord shut, so idk
Depends on your state laws and regulations. Most cases if they test you and your baby and you do test positive then child protective serviced will be involved.
