It's understandable to worry, just make sure you ask your nurse & doctor questions.

They recommend the Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (Tdap) between 27 and 36 weeks. They'll probably get you that and the flu shot. If you haven't gotten it yet just discuss it with your doctor and I'm sure they'll get it to you(:

Oh, yh they don't do tetanus shots here during pregnancy. I didn't get any shots for vaccine.  Some women get the flu shots during flu/cold season but I didn't. Don't worry, just follow the doctor advice.

I forgot you will also do glucose test to see of you have gestational diabetics. If you do, they will give you information how to protect the baby. Around 36-37, they do test for Group Strep B infection, if you test positive, the doctor will give you antibiotics. I didn't get any shots for vaccine throughout my pregnancy & I'm 35 weeks now.

Also throughout your pregnancy the doctor will schedule you to do ultrasound to see baby gender, for abnormalities, size, check all organs, baby postion etc. I hope this helps!

If there is something wrong the doctor will tell you what the problem is & will take necessary step to help you solve it. You will need to take prenatals, for me it made me sick so I only took iron & folic acid pills.

The tests my doctor did was for couple things. He took blood to see my iron level to see if I have I'm anemia. He check for HIV, another test for down syndrome & other abnormalities. I did a test to check for STD's. I think that's all.

Glucose test is to make sure your body is producing enough insulin to process the sugar in the food you eat. Shots they give are normally to protect the baby during pregnancy and soon after birth. And they run tests to make sure you have no diseases to pass to baby and to see if you or baby have any condition nd that can be treated to make sure mom and baby have a safe pregnancy and delivery.

You have the right to have them explain any tests, medications or procedures. You also have the right to refuse any that conflict with your beliefs and if they do not let you have these rights then you can find a new Dr.
