I know most doctors try to avoid doing many internal exams unless they're necessary because they dont' want to cause any sort of contractions. I've only had a couple so far, and they were when I had heavy bleeding around 15 weeks. No internal exams at a "normal" visit.
When I first went to the doctor all they did was a pregnancy test. 2 weeks later I had a "dating scan" that put me at 8w4d and then labs. I didn't see the doctor again for another 3 weeks or so and all we really did was talk about the pregnancy and take my weight. He did check me "down there" because I just had a car accident and he was making sure everything was alright. To this day, and I'm 32w2d, I've never been "checked." Every appointment goes the same. He measure my belly, checks my weight, we talk about the pregnancy, and in some appointments we do lab work. I know all doctors are diferent, but I'm thinking you should be fine and she'll "check" you on your next appointment. =)
what do you mean she hasn't examined you....what type of examination are you referring to? Could you elaborate a little on what you mean please? Many doctors won't do anything until you are about 12 weeks.
