They can't fire you for being pregnant but if you don't make it past the 3 month probationary period they don't need a reason for firing you. You're in Canada like I am @sonita5 and I believe the 3 month probation is with most jobs here if not every job in Canada. But I agree with what you want to do tell them when they hire you not at the interview :) good luck!
oh thanks so much ladies, in the interview i dont think ill tell him but i will after i hired if i do that is lol and no im not showing im 22 weeks
I'm glad u were able to find a job & get an interview... congrats! & I hope you get the job! If you're not showing, I wouldn't say anything. Maybe wait 2wks & tellm you re preggers. It is illegal for them to fire u but, they find something & tell u that'sthe reason for u not being hired or fired.
True they can't ask you. My boss said he wasn't even allowed to ask my age! If you really need/want the job just be persistent. I called my boss constantly to see if he made a desicion! I do that with all the jobs I really want! :) shows them how interested you are! Good luck
You can not get fired for not telling them you are pregnant. I was manager at sonic for 3 years. Its actually sharing the law for them to even ask you of you are pregnant. It may be inconvenient for them once you have to leave, but they can always hire another person just like they hired you. Plus, nothing is going to happen to you or baby working there. And if it does it will be pregnancy related which will have nothing to do with burger king.
How far are you? I told my boss when I was 14 weeks and he called for an interview. I started the job at 18 weeks. I have never worked at fast food but I would imagine pregnant women have done it! I'm sure you would get plenty hot in the kitchen and it seems like when they are busy you need to keep on your feet. As far as telling... Are you showing yet?
Yes its safe, just can't unload the merchandise off the truck. Are you showing? Just let them know after they hire you. Be honest. I wouldn't say that in the interview though.
I know many pregnant women who work fast food so its fine but be sure you can handle the smells first and tell the owner because you can get fired for not telling them that you're pregnant or it can put the owner in a bad situation if anything happens to you or the baby. Hope that helped a little. Good luck!
