Wow, thats very different to me. Here in Ohio the OB is who sees you all through it. I thought you had previously meant you were 6 months an had no medical care! Lol. Good luck, I hope all goes smoothly. My first OB appt I was 10 weeks pregnant, and they went over all that stuff then. Since you meet yours so late in pregnancy, I have no idea! Let us know how it goes!
ya i dont know what braxton hicks feel like!
Well just to add to the above comment, here you don't see your ob until 30 weeks or so.
They should also tell you signs of preterm labor vs Braxton hicks, pelvic pain and sciatic nerve pain. If your doctor hasn't already been over it (which I'm thinking he/she has, but you never know..) make sure you ask!
shelleversole no no iv had all that here in ottawa u do not meet your ob until your 6 months or unless you go with a ob right from the begining of your pregnacy....iv had 3 u/s my 20 week scan all that just havent met the woman who will actuallly be delivering...and wil get measured for first time iv had the pap test and all that already
lol no im 6 months...this is the doctor that will be delivering my baby...iv just had apointments with my family doctor until now and had my 3 u/s at the hospital where i will be delivering
You do mean 6 weeks, not 6 months, right? Most doctors will do a urine test, blood test, and internal ultrasound to confirm pregnancy. They may also give you a papsmear depending on the doctor. They will probably also do a breast exam, they will ask you different questions about your health, and family health. Its pretty basic, they should go over warning signs to watch for, you know cramping bleeding etc. They will give you a chance t ask questions, I'd get notebook and write down all questions you want to ask, it was sooo helpful.
Well at my first appt we went over family history, checked baby's heart beat, got a pap and got my questions answered. At 6 months though they may do more idk. Measuring earlier means the baby is bigger than they originally predicted. It's nothing to be concerned about as long as it is within 2 weeks I believe.
They measure your belly to see how many weeks you measure. You can be ahead so many weeks or behind. It doesnt mean anything. mainly on the first visit they ask a lot of questions about you and your family history.
