Hi Jen, what is placenta?
I had the exact same problem. The sac wasn't visible at 4 weeks but the doctor did see a cyst on my left ovary. I had to wait until 5 weeks to see a sac and the cyst was gone b/c the placenta had formed. At 5 weeks the sac was visible but a had a very low heartbeat. At 6 weeks the sac was still visible and the heartbeat was up. Try not to worry right now and just relax. Don't put any extra stress on yourself right now. I know it is hard but think positive.
Thankyou Rosa20. I have had a few people now saying they also had the cyst and there was nothing to worry about. Your message is much appreciated and has made me feel a little more at ease..at least until my next scan.
Congratulations and good luck with your new little bundle of joy!!!
four weeks is too early usually to see anything...the corpus luteum cyst is what the baby grows off until your placenta starts functioning at around 9 weeks i think! I cant remember but i also had the cyst and nothing was visible at 6 weeks,,,but i am now 38 weeks preggers and 3 days....awaiting my lil bundle!! So try not to worry and ask for a another scan in a couple weeks...the fact that you still have all the symptoms is a good sign!!
