I swear they should get rid of the damn Mirena.  It seemed so great when I got it, but man was it uncomfortable.  I had cramps 20 out of every 28 days, I had migraines, horrible acne.  My cramps got so bad that I was constantly pissed off.  Finally, I had it removed.  After having it removed is when I came across all the information on people having a hard time conceiving or maintaining a pregnancy.  I got pregnant 3 months after I had mine removed and lost that pregnancy.  I am newly preggo now and have had it out for 13 months.  I hope and pray that this one sticks.  Good luck to you.

unfortunately, IUDs do cause sometimes painful cramping. the same thing happened to me. I finally got it out after about 2 years. Which IUD did you choose? I had Mirena, and I also got very afraid of the horrible complications that can happen with it. read the insert for your IUD maker or google it for side effects. your doctor will also know. good luck
