just wondering

Hi girls, so here it is...my husband and I had unprotected sex on July 2nd, after which I discovered that my iud was mia. I began bleeding on the 4th, which was proof that it was gone because I have not bled on the iud in 3 years. So I went for exam and ultrasound on the 7th, it was gone! the ultrasound tech said that my lining was thin and that my ovary didnt show signs of recent ovulation. A blood test showed neg for pregnancy. So my doc put me on the pill. I took the pill for 4 days, and missed 2 days in a row (this is why I had the iud). now I am having swollen, tender breasts, nipple discharge from my left nipple, cramping and brown "period". The brown period is more than discharge. I am wondering if the blood test was accurate since it was only 5 days after sex. And if I could be pregnant even though I was bleeding heavily on the 4th for a few days. And what is the nipple and vaginal discharge? Is this from missing the pills? Any thoughts would be great.

Your body has relied on artificial hormones for so long that it is trying really hard to regulate and to pull itself together. Know that it might take some time for your body to get into a new rhythm. It does not necessarily mean you are pregnant. But if July 2nd was the last time you had unprotected sex a pregnancy test would be most accurate July 16th or so (tomorrow). You can always retest. Bleeding can occur during pregnancy.

However if your uterine lining was really thin with no sign of a corpus luteum (cyst on ovary that results from ovulation; not harmful and every woman gets them when they ovulate and they vanish every new cycle) then it would be doubtful you conceived recently.

Discharge is also due to hormonal imbalance.
