labor contractions but not progressing, help!

I'm a ftm, ill be 39w4d tomorrow and im 1 cm dialated. I've been in early Labor and having conractions since Monday afternoon, i went in to the hospital with contractions 3 minutes apart however they weren't strong enough to dialate me any more. I need some suggestions on what to try to dialate and efface more.. So far I've tried walking, pineapple, squats, and bouncing/rocking back and forth on the corner of the bed. My husband is afraid to have sex because he thinks it will hurt me or the baby, no matter how much i try to convince him it won't, so I'm trying to find alternate ways to eject my Baby boy!

I agree. I'm on week 2 of early Labor. I had my strongest contractions during a pedicure while she was massaging my feet.

Early labor can last for days to weeks. Relaxing will do more to encourage your body to produce oxytocin than any old wives tale. Get a massage or pedicure, spend time with your husband, relax in a warm bath. Baby will be here soon. Don't stress. That inhibits the production of oxytocin.
