ok, i was sent to labor and delivery yesterday to be monitored. i am dilated and having regular contractions but they sent me home with the instructions to come back if they got longer or stronger. heres the problem, everytime and strong one hits the baby starts moving or i get really sick feeling so it makes it hard to time the contraction. what can i do?

with my daugher which was my second child, I had contractions all day 10 min. apart.  I went to the hospital and the nurse said I wasn't dialated at all (which wasn't true, because 2 days before that my doc told me I was at 2cm) and then my contractions were registering 130 on the monitor, but she said that I was only having disturbances with my uterus do to me smoking early on in the pregnancy.  I was so angry I insisted they have my doctor come up there.  When he checked me I was at 5cm and he broke my water.  I asked for a new nurse and complained to the charge nurse about the one that seemed like she didn't know what she was doing.  I hope all goes well for you and that you are able to hold you little bundle of joy soon!!!

well i was sent back to l&d wednesday night. my contractions got stronger and were 4  minutes apart. they watched me for an hour and sent me home saying the contractions werent long enough. its starting to get annoying. im tired of the false alarms. it would be differnt if i hadnt been thru labor before. it really seems like my contractions are long and painful until they put me on the monitors. i swear i feel like im losing my mind

Try to lay on you left side and take some relaxing breaths.  I know that it sucks to try to time them with moving baby in there, but just keep your hands on your stomach and your eye on the clock.  When your belly starts to get tight start timing, and when it relaxes stop timing.  Just try to ignore the baby's movements during this time if possible.  You'll definately know a contraction from the baby's movements and start to see a pattern.
