medicaid and scheduling an obgyn appt

How long is the normal wait time to be called back?  I called the office yesterday of the obgyn that accepts medicaid in my area.  The receptionist took my name and number and tools me to wait for a call back because the Dr was busy. I was told by my local hospital to get seen immediately by an obgyn. Should I call the doctor at the obgyn clinic back today and explain my case to the receptionist? Thanks for any feedback

It normally doesn't take long. If u apply for medicaid thru the health department they will give u a piece of paper with a Number on it and set u up an appointment with an ob. Whichever ob u get call and hound them to get u in early and u should be in in no time. It took me 2 weeks to get my medicaid fully accepted accepted nd get my card

I'd call back until you get an appointment or at least talk to the doctor or the nurse.
