lifting while pregnant vent

My boss is a very nasty inconsiderate person. I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant and although she can avoid it she has me lifting bins of books (atleast 15). I know we are short staff but have a heart or get a accident report written on you....simple

I'll get a doctor's note because she's a bitter old lady whom no one likes

While they can't fire you for bring pregnant, they can fire you for not being able to do the job you were hired and are paid to do. Businesses have loop holes, and trust me, they will use them to their advantage.

I sent her an email telling her that I will no longer do it because it's jeopardizing the safety of myself and my child. This will be my second time telling her I don't feel comfortable lifting those bins, last time she called me a wuss. If she  does any more name calling or keep me doing the bins I'm going to forward the email today her boss.

I would get a note from your doctor saying you can't lift over a certain amount. I am now on bed rest because I was still lifting a 5 gallon bucket of ice plus other heavy stuff because my manager was understaffing.

I would refuse to do it for health and safety reasons. Can't sack you for it. Gross misconduct
