Help! what would you do?

I am 5 weeks pregnant and this morning when I went to the restroom there was some brownish blood mixed in with my discharge. I have not been to see a doctor yet as I just got insurance and haven't got my insurance card yet. Should I go to the hospital?

Thanks for easing my mind. Last time I had bleeding during a pregnancy was 6 years ago when I had a miscarriage at 15 weeks. So any type of bleeding tends to freak me out.

Of course, I forget that my health care is free. So if your insurance hasn't kicked in yet, there's probably no point in paying for it when probably nothing is wrong !

Brownish spotting is completely normal in early pregnancy. I had the same thing when I was 6 weeks. I called healthlink (which is a phone service where you can speak to a doctor and get a recommendation in Canada)and they told me not to worry unless I got bad cramps or the blood was red or heavy enough to saturate a pad. But as my worried self, I couldn't stop freaking out, so I went to the er (: they did my blood work, checked my hormone levels, and sent me in for an ultrasound. Everything was fine abd I got a sneak peak of my baby (: I'm now 13+5

Brown discharge is normal. :) As long as you have no cramping and no red blood, you should be ok. :)
