I don't have Medicaid yet...

Okay, So this is my first pregnancy and i am nine weeks. I don't have Medicaid but have been working on it and trying to file for it. But i just learned about all of the tests that are supposed to be done at 8 12 16 20 weeks of the pregnancy. Will they still be done when i start Medicaid and Dr.s visits or will they not check for them because im further along then when they normally do the tests?? If that makes any sense...

same thing happened to me my medicaid was not approved until I was already 15 weeks pregnant I had no test done for that entire time and finally I got my first doctor's appointment a couple of weeks ago .you can find a doctor that takes medicaid and they will backpay whatever you owe I just wanted to be safe and make sure I was covered .when I had my doctor's appointment they took blood tested a pelvic exam in an ultrasound and everything came out fine I was also given the option of genetic  testing if I wanted

You can find a doctor that accepts Medicaid and go there. Medicaid will cover any pregnancy related doctor visits for three months before you're accepted.

Also, there's really not that many tests. I had blood drawn twice and two ultrasounds, and I'm almost 22 weeks. Medicaid doesn't pay for a lot of optional tests, but it pays for everything that's necessary.

some can only be done during those time frames.
