malaria in early pregnancy

Hello,I'm 18wks and 2days today, and i ahave malaria, i put a call to my doc and he prescribed COARTEM for me, i read on internet the effect of coartem on growing baby and i called him back and he said i shld go ahead and take ϊ†, please has anyoone been treated for malaria at this stage of pregnancy? What did you use please? Or Į̸̸̨§ ϊ† okay to take coartem? Pls has anyone taken coartem pls advise!

With any medication if the risk to the mom not taking it is worse than what would happen to the baby then its best to take it.
It's a harsh way to look at it but if you die so does baby where as you can try for another baby if anything goes wrong. Best wishes and good luck x

The benefits definitely outweigh the risks with malaria.
Malaria can kill you. It can kill your unborn child.
I would take the medicine because if you don't it can be way worse than what could -maybe- happen to you or your unborn child.
