I stopped working around 36 weeks! I don't hurt as much and was less cranky when I stopped working. But now that I am 39 weeks I am back to being cranky. Ha. But maybe you can ask your doctor about being put on LIGHT DUTY. No lifting over 20 pounds, regular breaks, and sitting most the day. My doctor did that for me. I was truely thankful for it too

My job also has to do with lifting and binding and twisting. My back hurts really bad as well so I talked to my doctor and she said being g active is good for you cuz it will make you labor easy just don't lift anything over 2olbs she gave me a belly binder to wear when I work to help with my back pain..I'm still working and I'm 35 weeks hopefully she put me on maternity leave soon cuz I don't know how much more I can take...but hang in there..

Most women don't get put on bedrest unless something is wrong. I stopped working at 34 weeks. But I came back and worked a half day last week at 37 weeks. I'm a substitute aide for the special Ed department in the school district, so I get to decide which jobs I want to take. It also means I don't get paid leave or insurance though. Luckily my husband has insurance.

I work in a similar situation, I've had to apply for maternity leave a minimum of 10 weeks before I go on leave,  and have applied to go on leave when im 32 week's as my company wont allow mevto work within 6 weeks, this will also give me a chance to get everything ready for bub and also rest before it all begins :)

I guess I'm lucky there. My doctor hasn't put me on any restrictions yet. But my job will just move me to doing something else. There are 2 other pregnant women at my work place who are due in march and are still doing what they were doing to begin with.

I had to do all of those things for my job as well and my Dr gave me restrictions for bending, lifting over 20 lbs, and working no more than 8 hrs a day. My work let me go for it. So I've been out of work since about 23 weeks..I had a pinched nerve in my back and as soon as I quit working like that every day, I was good! No bed rest needed. I'm just going crazy being at home every day../: good luck! I'm being induced on the 26th (:

The pain could be your sciatic nerve. My job also involves heavy lifting standing on feet for long periods of time twisting and turning and bending over. You may need to talk to your doctor about your job and see what he or she has to say. My whole entire body hurts me after 8 to 12 hour days. Hope it gets better for you.
