I'm 25 weeks + 4 days and I'm on Zoloft. All of my ultrasounds have been normal. And honestly it has helped me 100℅.i would honestly be seeking advice from your obgyn. Every woman is different just because it caused issues with someone else doesn't mean it would happen to you. But I honestly wouldn't stop taking it because it makes your symptoms worse.
There have been commercials for zoloft causing birth defects. I stopped taking mine immediately when me and my boyfriend decided to try for a baby. Now im 20 weeks and 2 days.
Hi there. Yes, that is exactly right. Doctors will prescribe a medication like Zoloft when the symptoms one is having prior to taking it are such that it is worth the side effects of the medication. It's prescribed when someone has significant signs of clinical depression. Most doctors are very responsible about when they prescribe it because they take an oath to do right by their patients.
So, I don't know what symptoms you were having to have Zoloft prescribed and I assume your doctor did know you were pregnant when he/she prescribed it.
I wouldn't just stop taking it without talking to your doctor. Once on Zoloft, you have to titrate or take lower and lower doses as you go off.
But if you are worried about the side effects, I really encourage you to talk to your doctor and make sure it is the best choice for peace of mind.
Anti depressants are kind of weird because doctors base it on "if the benefits outweigh the possibilities" then theyll prescribe you it. Ive heard of a lot of birth defects from taking zoloft during pregnancy. If i were you id talk to your doctor. I personally never liked any anti depressants i was prescribed because they made me feel like i was just numb to emotions in general, but i know some people actually benefit from that.
I feel like I have seen commercials that Zoloft causes birth defects or effects you I'm not positive though. I would ask your OBGYN!
