memnrane sweep- 39 weeks 2 days

So i just had a membrane sweep done yesterday at 39 weeks and 1 day. Last week i was 1cm dilated. This weeks the dr said he could feel that i dilated a little more but was still at 1 cm. I was just wondering if any moms had this done and if it helped progress or bring on labor? I have 5 days left. And im extremely excited and just ready to not be pregnant anymore. Im ready to meet my little man.

So an update: i had my lo on the 25th of october by csection

Its been consistent all day but there are moments where it hurts far worse. And when i get up to walk i feel an extreme amount of pressure. The best way i could explain it would be like having a full bladder as far as the pressure goes but about 10x worse.

Is it off and on or is it consistent pain? If it's off and on then u need to time it. Download an app on ur phone for contraction timing. Alot of ftms don't know what contractions feel like but it's just like period cramps. If it's consistent pain then it still may be contractions but ur body is just preparing and practicing for labor

Well so far today ive had period like cramps in the front. They hurt so bad ive just been sleeping all day. Not sure if it has anything to do with labor or not.

Well last pregnancy I had a membrane sweep and as soon as I left the dr office I started contractions, lost my mucus plug 2 hours after that, then contractions were 5 mins apart, and I hate him that same day. I would seriously do ALOT of walking if I was u. When they sweep the membranes it just means that they are moving the amniotic sac away from the wall of the uterus so that way the hormones that make ur uterus contract can come through, so walking would be a really good idea. But I know people who have had one and it didn't do much for them...good luck♡ plz try and keep us updated on any changes.

i had a membrane sweep and 12 hours later went into labor with my little boy! now im due again in 8 weeks with my daughter! i, too am ready to meet my daughter and be done with being pregnant! we have completed our family now and ive just registered for nursing school! its all exciting. nothing in this world will make u work harder than ur children. congrats on your little boy!

Also due in 5 days but on Wednesday I was at 3cm and 80% effaced with a fully engaged baby. She did the sweep but I'm not sure if it did anything. Things have changed physically(a huge increase in bathroom visits, can't sleep at all now, threw up last night cause my indigestion was too bad to handle) but I feel like they were already on the way to happening prior to the sweep. Just been feeling different more and more this past week. Like my body is just done. I however hope to be late, far to many family members were born in october, myself included (halloween) and I'd just love for her to be 4 days late and be a November 1st baby haha midwife says it ain't gonna happen though haha
