My IBCLC told me the best time to introduce a bottle is between 4-6 weeks of age, I guess by then babies have a good handle on the process of breastfeeding, they're used to latching well and are more able to tolerate a change. We started earlier than that with my son but only once in a while did he get a bottle, I nursed him for two full years and he only took a bottle of pumped milk when I was at work or when his daddy really wanted to take a turn feeding him until he started drinking other things in addition to milk. Never had any "confusion" or issues.

I can't believe the whole breast feeding will lessen the chances of braces... I was not breast fed and didnt need them... but as for my sister and brother they both we're breast fed they both needed braces. And have had them.

Teeth are still genetic but if baby has strong jaws from breastfeeding (and no pacifier after teeth start coming in) the chances drop significantly. At the very least it will decrease the amount of time the braces are needed for.

Basically a bottle is easier to get milk out of and also very very different than breastfeeding: different way to suck, different latch, etc. Some babies switch back and forth super easily from day one, others get confused and prefer the bottle because it doesn't take as much work.
But the work is good for their jaws so dint worry it's to hard lol. It's good for muscle development and helps avoid braces later in life.

When you give your baby the bottle too early and they get used to that over your nipple, and refuse to bf anymore.
