Mirena is great, I had one put in after my last daughter when she was 6weeks old I spotted for a few months but then it was sweet az. I got it removed last year when she was almost 5 to try for number 4 and was pregnant within the first cycle. So no problems with it interfering with fertility.
I got one a couple years ago. I bled for a month straight and had horrible cramps so i got it out but i had never had a baby and they say its easier if youve had a baby first.
Okay thankyou ladies it sounds like a good option ill talk to my doctor about it tomorrow:)
I had the mirena after my first son and had almost no period for months and than the ovarian cysts started happening i had 3 and decided to take it out!! I personally wouldnt do it again and from what i was told The 10 year iud has no hormones so you get regular periods and is supossed to be way better for you definatly talk to your doctor they will go over risks and side effects.
I've had it for a little over a month. I spotted for a little bit, but haven't since. My doctor said i more than likely won't get my period. Especially while I'm breastfeeding. I have had some cramps and pain, where my right ovary is. I'm not sure what it is, but on the 12th I go for follow up, so of the pain keeps coming I might get it taken out.
Also, I still got my period with the Mirena but it only lasted 3 days and they were very light periods. Once I had it removed my periods were super heavy that I had to use super tampons. But I had heavy periods before I had Mirena. Some women's period stops all together with the Mirena and some women like me just get lighter periods.
I had the 5 year Mirena and I had no issues with it at all. I got it placed at my 6 week check up after my son was born in 2008. I got it taken out June 2013. I got pregnant in Dec. 2013 but miscarried. I am now 29 weeks pregnant with twins! And once the twins are born I plan on getting it again.
I'm getting it after my baby its nothing to do as taking the pills can be a hassal at time this is my best bet for my terrible memory with pills and medicine
That's what I'm getting my doctor told me it is one of the best. You may or may not get your period and it's good if you are breast feeding.
