Mucus plug or cervical irritation?

So, I spent all day and night in tuesday in l&d for contractions. I'm 36+1 and am dilated 4cm and 100% effaced. Since I started getting  cervical checks, every time I go to the restroom, I have been wiping what looks like dried blood. I assume its just from being checked, the doctor told me thats normal. However, this morning, I went to the restroom, and when I wiped, there was a blob of thick, brown mucus on the tissue. Could this be just from having been checked so often?(I had 4 different checks in 24 hours) or, could this be my mucus plug? it was a lot, and way different than any other time I've had blood/discharge.

Thats what I thought. And my contractions are coming back. I'm hoping to hold this kid in for a little while longer, since I'm not full term yet, but i have a feeling it may be happening sooner than we think. (:

Sound like the mucus plug or blood show.. I would be careful tho, since you are already at a 4.. If you have any pain or something dont seem right go back. Dont want you have a baby a home..lol Good luck and congrads
