My doctor told me to count at least 10 times he moves.
But that all babies are different so to just pay attention to how he usually is, and that if I notice a large decrease then to call in.
You'll know your baby and when something's wrong, trust your motherly instincts that's what my midwife told me :)
I had a friend whose babies (all 3 of them) hardly moved in utero - and they also were very sedentary as children - and the doctor said their heartbeat was fine but to count kicks when she gets up in the morning and she could stop when she got to 12 individual movement sessions. (Not 12 kicks, 12 times the baby moved and then stopped moving and then moved again).
All three of my babies moved around continuously - they easily would move more than 12 times before I even got out of bed in the morning - and all my kids were really active.
If your baby's heartbeat is good and healthy, count to at least 12 good firm individual movements.
It's dependent on the child you're carrying. My daughter was super lazy in the womb and I often never felt her. Some babies don't quit moving - go based on what you've noticed with your child.
