they generally wont allow them unless they are really necessary especially in the first two trimester because baby's brain and stem cells are forming along with organs and physical appearances.
I am in my second trimester. My doctor thinks I tore my meniscus, and being pregnant is going to make my knee worse. Thanks for all the advice, I may just be panicking a little because I haven't felt her move yet since I had the MRI.
You should be fine! I've had mri and ct scans while pregnant. I also have been in the room for my son to help restrain him for xrays, mri's, ct scans, and other exams that give off radiation. My little girl was born 3 weeks ago, and healthy as can be!
They do say if possible, to postpone it until pregnancy is over
well shes in her 2nd trimester now. so she shuld be okay
I'm surprised they allowed you to have an mri while pregnant.
I have an mri done every 6 months, but they wouldn't do any while I was pregnant.
I did google it. Here's what I found.
It is considered wise to avoid scanning during the first trimester of pregnancy unless deemed absolutely necessary by the physician. While no adverse side effects have been proven from performing MRI during pregnancy, whenever possible the MRI should be postponed until the pregnancy is over.
Hopefully this helps. But if you are concerned, I would definitely talk to your doctor
